Since its inception in 2006, AM | Capital has closed more than 60 transactions in most African geographies and industries. Joël Krief and AbdelNor Chehlaoui, its two founding partners, have completed more than 250 transactions through their combined carriers.

Joël Krief is co-founder of AM | Capital

Joël has over 35 years of investment banking experience, building and managing investment banking franchises and advising clients on a wide range of strategic merger, acquisition and financing solutions, including >20 years focused on Africa.

Previously, Joël served as Head of Middle East and Africa Corporate and Investment Banking within FORTIS Group (1998-2006), as a co-founder of the «Africa Merchant Bank» brand.

Before starting AMB, Joël had held several senior management positions at ING Barings, including Head of M & A & Privatization Advisory Emerging Markets. Before joining ING Barings in 1986, Joël had started as a financial analyst in Paribas Group.

Joël graduated from HEC Paris with an MBA in Finance. He is a Senior Independent Director of BGFIBANK DRC.

AbdelNor Chehlaoui
